The Markington & District Rural Billiards & Snooker League has been in existence since 1952 and is based in the picturesque Nidderdale region of North Yorkshire. The league upholds the time-honored tradition of competitive billiards and snooker across a sprawling rural area that spans approximately 150 square miles.
The Ripley Star Club, located just north of Harrogate, serves as the league headquarters. All the clubs participating in the Markington & District League are welcoming and encourage new members to join.
The Masham Snooker Club made the decision to return to the league and despite a rocky first season we got into our stride and began to get a decent set of players to take part during the Winter months.
With the guidance and support of our captain, Paul, the team has improved in league play and this has allowed us to achieve better results as we have gone through the three years of taking part in this league.
2023/24
A great years event with Masham Snooker Club just missing out on the first place trophy by one point. We were left in second place by Kirby Malzard Snooker Club, a tight finish that came down to the final game of the season, and we were unable to find the wins required to get ahead.
Well done to them and commiserations to us, but a second place trophy was presented of the AGM night to the club and we proudly show this at our club.

2024/25
A difficult first half to our season with several major losses knocking back our team, found Masham Snooker Club languishing in mid table and all title hopes lost.
But how things can change, the second half of the season was like a transformation, and in the last game of the season, Masham Snooker Club clawed back the lead to win the Markington League for this year by two points.
What a result? Congratulations to all who took part and helped us win this year.
